On March 18, 2016, KJA formally submitted its 5th recommendation to Government - 'EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGIES AND SATELLITE BASED EDUCATION FOR HIGHER EDUCATION IN KARNATAKA".

Dr. K. Kasturirangan, Chairman, KJA formally presented/submitted the KJA Report prepared by the Task Group on Educational Technologies and Edusat Utilisation to Mr. T. B. Jayachandra, Hon'ble Minister for Higher Education.

KJA, in its 5th meeting held on February 11, 2016, had formally approved endorsed the Report of the Task Group – which was prepared under the leadership of Dr. B. N. Suresh, Former Member of Space Commission and Former Director of Indian Institute of Space Technology and Dr. P. Balakrishna Shetty, Vice-Chancellor, Sri Siddhartha Academy of Higher Education, Tumkuru and involving many other experts. The Task Group had been well supported by the Additional Chief Secretary, Higher Education Department and also Mentored by Shri SV Ranganath, Vice-Chairman of KSHEC. The Task Group undertook wide range of consultation with faculty, experts and institutions with well-coordinated wshops in Mysuru and Bangalore, apart from consultation outside Karnataka also. The KJA Recommendation report identifies generic technologies for higher education and makes specific recommendations for higher educational institutions in the state of Karnataka. Technologies were chosen based on appropriateness to address issues in both urban and rural areas, likelihood of smooth assimilation into the present education system, and cost-effectiveness.

After the formal submission of the report by Chairman, KJA, Hon'ble Minister for Higher Education and Additional Chief Secretary, Higher Education Department assured to implement the recommendations of KJA.
