On the behest of the Minister, Chairman, KJA requested Dr. Manju Sharma, Former Secretary, DBT and Former President of  NASI, who was instrumental in setting up of Ganga and Brahmaputra galleries, to send a concept note. The concept note sent by NASI was discussed and approved during the 2nd KJA meeting, held on September 22, 2014. A detailed project proposal was then sought from NASI for further action.  The  project proposal submitted by NASI and National Council of Science Museums (NSCM) was reviewed by Honourable Minister in a meeting held on November 29, 2014. The proposed Cauvery Gallery will have exhibits on river Cauvery's journey, myths and legends, physiography, tributaries, geo-scientific importance, biodiversity of the basin, socio-economic importance, tourism, culture, fairs and festivals, threats to the river, conservation and restoration efforts and research.
